Mission Statement

The Living Stones project seeks to make an oral history for the members at Headingley Methodist Church in Leeds.

Oral history is the collection of people’s stories via interviews and audio recordings. It is a method of research which allows memories to be shared and for the voices of people to be heard.  

 

The first stage of the project simply aims to interview individual members about their life stories and connection to the Church. These interviews will hopefully be recorded as WAB files and archived. A short piece of writing about each individual will be produced alongside this and published on this website.

 

It is possible that, at a later stage, the recordings will be transcribed and a more advanced publication made. But for now, the aims of the Living Stones project remain achievable and realistic.
